Q. What is keys4life?
A. Keys4life is a company dedicated to raising awareness and additional financial support for organizations through its annual subscription key return service. The tokens are branded for your organization. The keys4life token is placed on your key chain, cell phone or anything you wish to have the chance to be returned if lost. Our ultimate goal is to perpetuate giving which will aid in creating better communities.
Q. How does it work?
A. Simply attach the token on your keychain. You will notice a Key Tag ID on the bottom of the return for reward side (ie:. SEA8888888). The finder can either call our toll free number or go to our website where they will be prompted to enter the token's code. They will be instructed to send the keys back to the appropriate keys4life office. Simultaneously, we will contact the owner letting them know that their item was found, and to verify it's contents. Once all items are verified and successfully returned, a request for the reward payment is made. The owner can decide whether to pay the reward or not. Keys4life will return the keys back to its rightful owner securely without the owner and finder ever having to interface directly.
Q. Is your service guaranteed?
A. We do not guarantee someone will find your keys, or if found, they will turn them in. However, we will guarantee that if someone finds your keys, you will be contacted promptly, and we will ensure return of your keys in a timely, secure and safe manner. For web orders check to see you live in a participating city. If not, this may add transit time for the return of lost keys.
Q. What is a token?
A. Our token is a durable plastic material, made in the USA. The standard token colors are yellow, grey and black. Custom tokens are available in a variety of color combinations, and often have the participating organization's logo or slogan.
Q. How do I purchase a token?
A. You can go to the activate/purchase page of our website, choose from a participating keys4life location, and the organization you wish to donate to. You can purchase via credit card or a paypal account.
Q. Is your site secure?
A. We use Paypal to manage all transactions, as this is the most secure method to make online purchases. Keys4life stores no credit card information. We also keep each subscribers personal information secure.
Q. How much is the service?
A. $30 per year. You will receive notification 30 days before your subscription expires. It will auto renew unless you cancel your subscription. You can cancel your subscription at anytime, just login to your account and cancel.
Q. What portion of my subscription is donated to my organization?
A. This varies depending on the agreement keys4life has with an individual organization. However, there is a 50% minimum that goes to each organization.
Q. What is a reward?
A. At sign up, the purchaser has a choice to choose a reward amount if the keys are lost and successfully returned by an individual. Upon returning the keys, the finder is issued a reward and the keys are returned to their rightful owner securely. A pre-determined portion of the reward is donated to the key owner's selected organization. We recommend you evaluate what your keys are worth and provide a sensible reward.
Q. What if I lose my token or my token gets damaged?
A. Simply go to the "contact us" page and let us know who you are and what organization you contributed to. We will deactivate your registered token and issue a replacement for free.
Q. How do I cancel my subscription?
A. Login to your account and simply choose to cancel your subscription. However, once your subscription is canceled, your token number will be deleted from our database. If you still have the token on your keychain, and it is lost and then found, we will not be able to return it, as the number will have already been deleted from our database. In order to receive our service again, you will need to activate a new token. Due to keys4life's fund raising model we do not provide refunds.
Q. I have a token, but haven't registered yet, can I still put it on my keychain?
A. Yes you can, however a non activated token will not register in our database. If you should happen to lose your item and somebody found it, we would have no way to match your ID number to your information.
